Bio:
Luciana
Schwab possesses expertise in biology with years of hands-on research
experience as well as several publications and presentations. Prior to
her Doctorate, she characterized the activation of the accessory
olfactory system by pheromonal stimulation to identify neuronal
pathways involved in the sex drive of rats. More recently, Dr. Schwab
researched the biological process of osteolysis, a mechanism of
bone-implant loosening, to help improve medical implant longevity and
surgical success rates. Currently she is investigating the role of
hypoxia in a murine model of breast cancer to gain a better
understanding of cancer progression and metastasis at the University of
Tennessee Health Science Center, Memphis.
