Luciana Schwab, Ph.D. (Science Advisor)

Bio:

Luciana Schwab possesses expertise in biology with years of hands-on research experience as well as several publications and presentations.  Prior to her Doctorate, she characterized the activation of the accessory olfactory system by pheromonal stimulation to identify neuronal pathways involved in the sex drive of rats.  More recently, Dr. Schwab  researched the biological process of osteolysis, a mechanism of bone-implant loosening, to help improve medical implant longevity and surgical success rates. Currently she is investigating the role of hypoxia in a murine model of breast cancer to gain a better understanding of cancer progression and metastasis at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center, Memphis.
